GIRLS LEADERSHIP EMPOWERMENT FOR ADVANCEMENT IN MYANMAR

With the support of Plan International Myanmar, PPLF is implementing the Girls Leadership Empowerment for Advancement in Myanmar (GLEAM) project at Maple Garment Factory. The project aims to improve the well-being, empowerment, and protection of young women and mothers working in the garment sector by providing safe spaces, promoting gender equality, and strengthening access to essential services, skills development, and leadership opportunities.

STRENGTHENING COMMUNITY EMERGENCY RESILIENCE

Yangon, Myanmar | 16–18 March

We provide intensive, hands-on First Aid and Emergency Response training for local CBOs and NGOs. By combining technical skills like CPR and injury management with Psychological First Aid, we ensure community leaders are fully equipped—both with knowledge and medical kits—to serve as immediate lifesavers in their respective regions.

NUTRITION PROGRAMS

PPLF’s Nutrition Program focuses on improving the health and well-being of children by promoting access to safe and nutritious foods while strengthening knowledge on healthy feeding practices. The program supports children’s growth and development through nutritious meal provision and works closely with parents and caregivers by providing education on proper nutrition, child feeding, and hygiene practices. Through community-based awareness and capacity-building activities, PPLF aims to foster healthier families and ensure children receive the nourishment they need to thrive.

ECCD POLICY AND RELATED LEGAL STUDY

In 2020, a study titled ‘ECCD policy and related legal study’ was conducted with the active involvement

of multiple stakeholders. These included NGO partners, ECCD professionals, preschool teachers,

ECCD technical experts, and private sector preschool founders.

EARLY CHILD CARE AND COMPREHENSIVE DEVELOPMENT

We offer technical support, consultancy services, and training programs focused on "Early Child Care and Comprehensive Development" to non-governmental organizations (NGOs), international non-governmental organizations (INGOs), government entities, and faith-based organizations.

EARLY LITERACY AND LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS

The MASHAV Grant (2020-2021) was implemented in collaboration with 38 ethnic groups by the Embassy of Israel with the aim to focus on the “Early Literacy and Language Development” program. The program aims to promote literacy and language development in early stages of life.

A STUDY ON THE EFFECTS OF CLIMATE CHANGE ON VULNERABLE CHILDREN AND FAMILIES

In June 2021, a comprehensive study titled “Effects of Climate Change on Vulnerable Children and Families” was conducted across the Irrawaddy and Yangon Regions, examining how environmental changes are impacting the safety, well-being, and livelihoods of at-risk communities. The study provided valuable insights into the challenges faced by vulnerable children and families, highlighting the urgent need for targeted interventions and sustainable support.

PARENTING EDUCATION AND PLAYGGROUND PROGRAMS TO SUPPORT CHILDREN'S SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT

With the support of the Australian Embassy, ​​"Parent Education and Play Group Program for Children's Social Emotional Development" were implemented in 16 IDP camps located in Northern Shan State and Kachin State during 2017-2019.

CHILD TO CHILD APPROACH

The Child to Child approach program was implemented with funding from Open Society Myanmar in Phekone, Southern Shan State. This initiative's objective was to provide training to children aged 8 to 13 in remote and challenging areas, with a focus on equipping them with skills to care for their younger siblings. "
